This essay is about why my father moved to America. My dad moved here from India in the year of 1999, for a better life. There weren’t that many opportunities for work in India. When my dad moved here he started working odd jobs. He started his family, and worked hard to move forward in life and support his family. After working for a few years, he took a course in IT. Soon he got a job in that field, and he has been working in that field since. He hasn’t stayed at the same job though. He always looked for ways to excel in his field. He took courses and got better positions.

He has came a long way from when he used to live in India. He was aware of the challenges he would face, and the chances to explore different career opportunities. He knew he would have to work hard because it was a completely different lifestyle, and his decisions, would make a significant difference in his future. In India he didn’t have a set vision or goal in life. He did not have guidance in education or future planning. Due to a lack of resources and opportunities he decided to move to America. The quality of his life changed drastically, and his financial status had improved compared to when he was in India. So he was able to support his family back home as well as here.
